1. Login to your USPS account (create one if you haven’t done so already)
1A – To Create a new account, Go to USPS.com and Click Register/Login (top right) then Click Create New Account then select Business then begin the steps to register.
1B. Then Validate the email you get, fill out the info they require (User and pass and secret questions) make sure you save this info for future use.
Move on to the next step by going to the other USPS site below.
2. Then go to the USPS Developer Portal: cop.usps.com
ย ย This requires the logged in credentials from your USPS Business Account
3. Check the Box and click Continue…
4. Then you will see this along with your info below that to confirm all is accurate for your account (verify it’s all correct)…ย
Below this you will see the next step, so scroll down and do the following to add a payment method…ย
5. In the next screen, input your card info for payment and proceed. When you get done, you will see this…ย

4. Using Credentials in USPS Live Rates in WooCommerce:ย
5. Once you have your Consumer Key and Consumer Secret, you can integrate our plugin with the USPS API. Hereโs a guide on how to accomplish that:
- Navigate to the settings for your USPS Live Rates plugin.
- Under API type, select โREST APIโ.
- Locate the designated fields for Consumer Key and Consumer Secret.
- Fill in these fields with the credentials you obtained from the USPS Developer Portal.
- Click โSave Changesโ.
Verifying Connection:ย
If the connection with the USPS API is successful, you should see the โAPI Connection Statusโ change to โOKโ within the plugin settings.
6. Now go create a Shipping Zone for the USPS Shipping plugin to use:ย
ย ย Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Shipping Zones > Edit the “US” Zone
7. Click “Add Shipping Method”
8. Click USPS Live Rates
9. Then click Edit..ย
10. Set your settings…
Set these for a fallback if you do not have any weights and dimensions set.ย
Set any other settings as you scroll down (as you see any that apply to your business)
TEST by adding a product to your site and going to the cart to see if shipping methods are available.ย
